Referral and assessment of offenders

We welcome referrals from anyone who has been convicted of a sexual offence, though we assess any referral for suitability. We assess suitability for Circles, and for our counselling and mentoring services.

There are, however, a number of criteria that need to be met in order to access these services. These are the following:

  • High risk/high need (Individual cases assessed)
  • Voluntarily agrees to engage with our service
  • Due to commence or complete accredited Sex Offender Treatment group work programme (if not, we need to discuss why)
  • Male or female sex offender
  • All contact sexual offences (or strong evidence of graduating towards)
  • Indication of accepting of responsibility and be motivated not to re-offend
  • Socially isolated
  • Due for release into the community
  • Living in the community

We cannot work with people who are in complete denial about their offending.

Our referral packs contain two referral forms, one for the referring agency, and one for the potential Core Member. We also ask the Core Member to sign a consent form, granting us access to records, assessments and reports held by statutory agencies. We would ask then that such reports are sent along with the referral forms, as indicated in the paperwork.

If you would like a referral pack, or would like to discuss a case, please contact us on info@htvcircles.org.uk
